Hillsborough Comic To Headline At Stress Factory, Tour With Dane Cook

Adam Mamawala will be at the Stress Factory on Thursday and touring with his comedic hero Dane Cook with a show at NJPAC on March 30.

HILLSBOROUGH, NJ — Hillsborough native and stand-up comedian Adam Mamawala is returning to his old stomping grounds to headline the Stress Factory this Thursday, March 13.

"The Stress Factory is not only the premier comedy club in New Jersey, it's also the very first place I ever got onstage at an open mic back in January of 2006," said Mamawala to Patch. "No matter how much I travel doing stand-up, it's always extra special to be back on that stage in front of so many of my friends and family."

Mamawala noted that "having graduated from Hillsborough High School (Class of '05) and The College of New Jersey (Class of '09), it's genuinely amazing to see the kind of support I get from people I've known for decades."

"Last fall I had the opportunity to work with a comedic hero of mine, Dane Cook. Dane was the reason I wanted to do stand-up in the first place and last year I had the chance to open for him at the iconic Beacon Theatre in NYC," said Mamawala.

That performance led to subsequent opportunities and Mamawala ended up doing a 19-show tour with Dane Cook all over the country.

Mamawala will also be touring with Dane Cook again this spring, including a performance at NJPAC in Newark on Sunday, March 30.

Additionally, last September Mamawala also had the opportunity to do a six-city tour in South Korea with Armed Forces Entertainment, performing for our troops overseas.

"It was truly an honor and next month I'll have the chance to do another tour with the same organization, this time at bases in Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania and Poland," said Mamawala.

Mamawala also previously starred as the lead actor in his first-ever TV series called "Under Cover Comic" in the summer of 2023. Read More: Hillsborough Comic Stars In New Amazon TV Series 'Under Cover Comic'
