DAWSON CREEK, B.C. — Police say they’ve seized a wide array of firearms, drugs, a stolen vehicle, fraudulent identification papers, and more after searching an industrial lot in Dawson Creek.
Officers say they were advised on May 6th that a man wanted by police had been seen near the 300 block of 115th Avenue in the city.
Police arrived soon after to search the area, but the man wasn’t found, and officers say it’s believed he fled before they got there.
While searching the lot, officers seized four rifles, two handguns, “hundreds of rounds” of ammunition, a substance they suspect to be fentanyl, parts of other firearms, a stolen motorbike, a drone, fake police gear, and drug trafficking paraphernalia.
Police also say they found and seized “hundreds of fraudulently obtained documents such as passports, driver’s license and SIN cards among other things.”
RCMP officers say they’re always happy to remove illegal guns, stolen property and drugs from the streets of Dawson Creek and are applauding the public for reporting the sighting of the wanted man.
They say they’re still looking for his whereabouts and urge residents to contact the detachment at 250-784-3700 if they notice any suspicious activity.
